Avinox Drive System Guide
From the original M1 to the next generation of M2 and M2S motors.
Avinox E-Bike Technology
Engineering a new era of electric cycling
Born from DJI's expertise in motors, battery management, intelligent electronics and precision engineering, Avinox brings a fresh perspective to electric bike technology.
First unveiled at Eurobike in July 2024, the original Avinox Drive System made an immediate impression. Combining a remarkably compact motor with up to 105 Nm of torque and 850 W of peak power, it introduced a new level of performance to electric mountain biking. Launched alongside the Amflow PL, it established Avinox as a serious new force in the e-bike industry.
That original drive unit is now known as the Avinox M1. Its combination of high power, low weight and intelligent system integration helped establish the foundations for the technology that followed.
In April 2026, Avinox introduced the next generation of its drive systems: the M2 and M2S. Building on the original platform, these motors deliver increased performance, with the M2 offering up to 1,100 W of peak power and the flagship M2S reaching up to 1,500 W, subject to battery configuration.
Avinox has also evolved beyond its original launch, establishing itself as an independent company and expanding its reach across the bicycle industry, with more manufacturers adopting its drive technology. What began with one motor and one bike brand has grown into a broader platform for the next generation of electric bikes.
At Forwards Electric, we're excited to bring Avinox technology to riders in Southampton, offering specialist knowledge of the systems and the bikes built around them.
Compact by design. Powerful by nature. Built to move you further.
