What do you need to do to register a Speed Pedelec in the UK?
We offer this service, free of charge for our customers purchasing a Stromer. If you want to know how to do it yourself we have listed below everything we do.
You will require the following forms.
V267 (Declaration that a vehicle is new form)
V55/4 (Application for first vehicle tax and registration of a new motor vehicle)
EU Certificate of Conformity

For our customers, this form will be completed, signed and dated by us and sent to the DVLA or included with their Stromer on collection.
We have included a link below to the V267 form from the DVLA and they accept printed copies.
Speed Pedelec UK Registration DVLA form V55/4
We have compiled the table below to help you fill in the V55/4 for your Stromer Speed Pedelec. You will also require your EU Certificate of Confirmity to hand as we reference this in our table and you’ll need information from it.
We have included a link below to the V55/4 form from the DVLA and they accept printed copies, we print ours in colour just to be on the safe side.

All of the following paperwork needs to be sent to the DVLA:
Completed V267 form
Completed V55/4 form
A cheque for £55.00 (at the time of writing) made payable to the DVLA
Original copy of the EU Certificate of Conformity
Proof of address, a copy of a bill or bank statement for example
Proof of ID, a copy of your driving licence for example
The DVLA will return the documents you send them after the bike is registered. You will also receive your V5c for your Speed Pedelec.

Registration can take a few weeks depending how busy the DVLA are.
Taxing your Speed Pedelec?
Speed Pedelecs are tax exempt due to zero emissions.
Speed Pedelec MOT
After 3 years your Speed Pedelec will need to have an annual MOT test. This would be completed at a motorcycle MOT station.
