Amflow PR Carbon Size & Weight Guide

A quick guide to PR Carbon and PR Carbon Pro sizing, bike weights and maximum load capacity.

Choosing the right frame size is essential for getting the most from the Amflow PR Carbon. With four frame sizes, adjustable geometry and two distinct performance variants, the PR range offers plenty of scope to find a setup that suits your height, proportions and riding style.

This guide brings together Amflow's recommended rider heights, published bike weights and maximum load capacity, helping you make an informed choice before heading out on the trails.

Amflow PR Carbon Size Guide

The Amflow PR Carbon is available in four frame sizes, with overlapping rider height recommendations to accommodate different body proportions and riding preferences.

Choosing the correct size helps achieve the ideal balance between comfort, control and manoeuvrability, particularly when riding technical mountain bike trails.

Rider Height Frame Size
160–176 cm Medium (M)
168–183 cm Large (L)
173–189 cm Extra Large (XL)
183–199 cm Extra Extra Large (XXL)

Between Two Amflow PR Sizes?

The overlapping size recommendations mean that some riders may be comfortable on more than one frame size.

Choosing a smaller frame can provide a more compact riding position and agile handling, particularly on tight, technical trails. A larger frame generally offers a roomier cockpit and greater stability at speed.

The PR Carbon's adjustable geometry provides further opportunities to fine-tune handling, but frame size remains the starting point for achieving a comfortable, well-balanced fit.

At Forwards Electric in Southampton, we can help you select the most suitable PR Carbon frame size and configure the bike around your riding preferences.

Amflow PR Carbon Bike Weight Guide

The Amflow PR Carbon and PR Carbon Pro share the same full-carbon frame platform and removable 800 Wh battery, but their different components result in slightly different complete-bike weights.

The standard PR Carbon is approximately 0.5 kg lighter than the Pro across all four frame sizes. Both variants offer an impressive balance of weight, battery capacity and powerful Avinox motor assistance.

The figures below are Amflow's published reference weights, measured with selected accessories removed and the tyres converted to tubeless.

Frame Size PR Carbon PR Carbon Pro
Medium (M) 22.6 kg 23.1 kg
Large (L) 22.7 kg 23.2 kg
Extra Large (XL) 22.8 kg 23.3 kg
Extra Extra Large (XXL) 22.9 kg 23.4 kg

Amflow PR Carbon Weight

From 22.6 kg in size M

The PR Carbon combines a full-carbon chassis with the Avinox M2 drive system, FOX suspension and SRAM Eagle Transmission. Its carefully selected components provide a capable, responsive mountain bike platform without unnecessary weight.

Amflow PR Carbon Pro Weight

From 23.1 kg in size M

The PR Carbon Pro features the more powerful Avinox M2S motor, upgraded FOX suspension and Magura Gustav Pro brakes. These premium performance components contribute to a slightly higher overall weight, prioritising control, braking performance and suspension capability over achieving the lowest possible figure.

Why Do Actual Bike Weights Vary?

Amflow's published weights are measured under specific conditions, with selected accessories removed and the tyres converted to tubeless.

The weight of a complete bike as delivered may therefore be higher. Frame size, fitted accessories, tyre configuration and individual component tolerances can all affect the final figure.

Both variants feature a removable 800 Wh battery, allowing the battery to be taken out separately when charging or transporting the bike.

Amflow PR Carbon Rider Weight & Load Guide

The Amflow PR Carbon is engineered for demanding mountain bike riding, but understanding the manufacturer's weight limits is essential for safe operation.

Unlike the TL Carbon, which has a separate maximum total system weight specification, the PR Carbon has a maximum load capacity covering the rider and everything carried or mounted to the frame.

Load Description Maximum
Combined rider and equipment 125 kg
Clothing and protective equipment Included in 125 kg
Backpack and carried luggage Included in 125 kg
Frame-mounted accessories Included in 125 kg

Amflow PR Maximum Load Capacity

125 kg combined load

Amflow specifies a maximum load capacity of 125 kg for the PR Carbon range. This includes the rider's body weight, clothing, protective equipment, backpacks and any additional items mounted to the frame.

For example:

  • Rider weighing 100 kg + 10 kg of equipment = 110 kg combined load

  • Rider weighing 115 kg + 10 kg of equipment = 125 kg combined load

  • Rider weighing 120 kg + 10 kg of equipment = 130 kg, exceeding the permitted load

The bike's own weight is not included in this 125 kg load capacity.

Designed for Demanding Mountain Bike Riding

The PR Carbon meets ASTM Category 4 requirements, making it suitable for technical mountain bike riding, including demanding climbs, rough trails and challenging descents.

Amflow specifies a maximum drop height of 122 cm under its stated test conditions, with suspension correctly adjusted to 25–30% sag.

These limits should always be respected, particularly when riding aggressively or carrying additional equipment.

Important Information

The size recommendations are intended as a general guide. Individual proportions, riding position and personal preferences can influence the most suitable frame size.

Published bike weights are manufacturer reference measurements taken with selected accessories removed and tyres configured tubeless. Actual weights may vary according to frame size, equipment and configuration.

The maximum 125 kg load capacity includes the rider and any additional equipment carried or mounted to the bike. The manufacturer's specified limits must not be exceeded.
